Coats Rose Attorney Elected to Serve on 2017-2018 Governing Committee of the ABA Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law

 

NEW ORLEANS – July 25, 2017 – Coats Rose, P.C., a business transaction and litigation law firm headquartered in Houston, is pleased to announce thatKelly Longwell has been elected to serve on the 2017-2018 Governing Committee of the American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law.

Longwell, a director out of the New Orleans office, concentrates her practice on the areas of real estate, affordable housing, community development and taxation. She has represented developers and investors in a wide variety of projects, including hotels, apartment complexes, office buildings, residential condominiums and retail commercial space. With her experience in real estate development, corporate and partnership taxation, and tax-exempt organizations, Longwell focuses primarily on representing and advising private developers and investors as to federal tax incentives, including the historic rehabilitation tax credit, new markets tax credits, the low-income housing tax credit, facade donations and real estate syndications. Longwell received her law degree from Louisiana State University.

The ABA Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law is comprised of more than 3,000 lawyers and 6,000 law students who share the passion of strengthening the affordable housing and community development environment of the nation’s communities. The forum is led by a governing committee of 12 members elected by the membership, with advice from liaisons from other ABA entities with interests complementary to the forum’s mission.
