Former school principal sentenced to 50 years for Woodbridge kidnapping, sexual assault
A South Jersey man who formerly worked as a teacher and school administrator has been sentenced to 50 years in state prison for the 2014 sexual assault of a Woodbridge woman in her home.
Danny McEaddy, 40, of Sicklerville, Camden County, was sentenced Wednesday by Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Pedro Jimenez to 20 years on the aggravated assault charge which will run consecutive to a 30-year sentence on a kidnapping charge, both first-degree crimes. Under the No Early Release Act, McEaddy must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole, with the kidnapping sentence to be served first, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
McEaddy also was sentenced to two, eight-year and three, five-year terms for burglary, sexual assault, aggravated assault, criminal restraint and aggravated criminal sexual contact, charges he was convicted of following a trial before Jimenez earlier this year. Those sentences will run concurrent to the 30-year term, court officials said.
He also will be required to register as a Megan’s Law sex offender and undergo parole supervision for life, court officials said.
On Sept. 21, 2014, a Woodbridge woman reported being sexually assaulted by an unknown man who forced his way into her apartment in the Keasbey section. DNA analysis of biological samples found at the crime scene indicated McEaddy was the man involved in the sexual assault.
McEaddy, who formerly worked as a teacher and school administrator in South Jersey and Pennsylvania, was arrested in connection with the sexual assault nearly decade later on March 23, 2023.
Last year McEaddy was accused of forcing his way into a Winslow Township, Camden County woman’s home in February 2022 and looking into the windows of other homes.
