Why Did Joe Biden Say ‘No’ To Running in 2016?

While so many people focused on Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, many forgot that the current Vice President had yet to announce if he was going to run for President in the 2016 election or not.

This past week, he held a press conference to announce that when he leaves office in the beginning of 2017, he will be leaving for good. While he took a bit of time to announce whether he was running or not, in the end, his announcement is no surprise.

After just losing his son to cancer a few months ago, many wondered whether he would start a campaign or not. But grief is not something that easily goes away, and for Biden, it was something that he felt he couldn’t handle while also trying to put together a winning campaign.

Part of his decision to stay out of the race also deals with the fact that he feels he could not win, even if he ran. Without the confidence behind him to build up a winning campaign strategy, he is choosing to stay out altogether.

The race is still anything but figured out, and at this point, no one really knows for sure what can happen. The only thing that we do know is that Joe Biden will be living a life with fewer stresses after the election in 2016.
